Everyone is running after things that might make them happy but they forget that happiness is not something you can catch. It’s something you built on your own for yourself and for people around you. Happiness is something that exists because of you not for you. No one can ever make you happy, to be truly happy you have to go out there and find your true happiness. Happiness is not an obligation or it doesn’t just happen due to some accident. Happiness is something you choose for yourself. No one has the power to change your feelings or bring happiness unless you truly choose to be happy. For starters be positive about the world around you, about your life and most importantly about yourself. Don’t let problems come in the way of your happiness for even a single day. Think of every day as a gift and as a blessing, make most of it and find small reasons to stay happy even in the time of trouble. Just go out there and make every day the best day of your life by choosing happiness over everything else.

If you can fix something then fix it but if you can’t do anything about it, then there’s no point in worrying. You won’t solve anything by worrying about it; all it would do is suppressing your happiness. Only do something when actually can and so as much as you can and let the rest happen on its own. Worrying is something extra that you don’t even need in your life but you carry it on your shoulders as a responsibility.

We are the biggest critic behind our every move. Criticism will only make you look in the mirror not liking the person looking back. Push your inner critic to the furthest corner and shut his face with tape. Degrading yourself will not make you better, solve any problem or do some good additions to your life. They will only build up more and more negativity keeping you away from all your happiness.

9. Follow The Rule Of Forgiving And Forgetting

Forgiving alone is not enough, if you have forgiven someone then you have to forget their mistake too. Constantly remembering it will only make you feel hurt again and again and might even hold a grudge too. You would never be back to normal with that person and this would strain your relationship. Let go of the past and let time heal you. Forgiving and forgetting would free you from the pain that you might have felt. You would truly be free to enjoy life again.

No matter at what point of your life are you right now, how much trouble you are in or how much it might suck right now, there’s always something to be grateful about. You just have to find those things and hold on to them like your life depends on it. Look at the bright side, find the good things, things that would make you happy and accept whatever is in your life, being at peace with yourself. This would give you immense happiness. Being grateful about things that you have would make you divert your attention from all the bad things to the good parts, the blessed parts.

7. Money Is Not Equal To Happiness

Money can buy you a lot that would increase your level of pleasure but money would never be able to give you happiness. Pleasure is a temporary thing and you can never be satisfied with it, there will always be a need for more. Your focus should not be on what you don’t have but on what you actually have. Count your blessings; don’t run after money sacrificing your happiness.

Friends can get you through everything. They always have your back; they are always there to pick you back up when you fall down. They would be your biggest support in doing anything. You should always make your existing friendship stronger and meanwhile cultivate on new ones. Make dependable, good friends that you can trust and rely on. Friends would be your strength through all troubling times.

5. Spend Time Meaningfully

Don’t just keep on sitting on the sofa doing nothing. Go out there and spend your time doing something meaningful. Go on adventures, find your passion. Would you be sitting around chilling if it was your last day on this planet? Make life worthwhile as you never know if there’ll be a tomorrow

Stop comparing yourself to others, as every individual is different so is there life. There’s no point in comparing your life with theirs. Following people on social media and comparing your life with them is the biggest stupidity. They cherry pick good aspects of their life or make fake ones to feel wanted and get attention. You can never know the full story behind a picture so just be happy by being yourself. It is not necessary that your happiness would be similar to the other person, built yours on your own.

If you’ll be kind to others, the will be kind to you. If you would bring happiness in the life of someone who needs it eventually you’ll end up sharing it making yourself happy too. Happiness is a contagious thing and carrying it can help lots of people around you if only you remember to be kind to them. There’s this feeling of self-satisfaction and gratitude that comes with being kind. Be kind, be selfless and be happy.

2. Enjoy Little Thing In Life

Find happiness in simplicity. Happiness could come from a thing as little as a sunset or walk on the beach, cold shower on a hot day or just a good cup of coffee. Just sit down, relax and enjoy little, uncomplicated, simple things in life. Don’t take anything for granted, as long as you have a roof over your head, a warm bed and clothes to cover yourself, these alone are reasons enough to be happy and blessed.
